When The Gratuity Is Received
Gratuity is payable to government servants at the end of the specified period of service while gratuity is paid on an average of working in a private company for many years. It entitles you to gratuity if you work continuously for a company for five years. It will depend on your last month’s basic to calculate this. The government has given some rules for this. If you are qualifying for this condition, then only you will be able to take benefit of it. This rule is valid under the Gratuity Act of 1972.
Gratuity Raised By 25 Percent In This State
Amendments have been approved by the Haryana government under the Haryana Civil Services (Pension) Ordinances, 0008. Under this scheme, an increase of 25 percent of gratuity has come into effect as of now. Furthermore, such an increase would be effective from January 2024. The ceilings of gratuity would thus increase from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh under the new provisions. A notification regarding this has also been issued. It is already cleared from the cabinet.
Thousands Of Employees Will Benefit From This Amendment.
These are thousands of employees in various departments in the state. They will be eligible for direct benefit from this amendment. Earlier the maximum gratuity allowed after either death or retirement was Rs 20 lakh. Now this has been modified to Rs 25 lakh. The Cabinet had already given approval to it.
